Amr Awadallah is the co-founder and CEO of Vectara. He is also an investor in AtScale. He is a board member of Lucidya, Rology and Synapse Analytics. He is an angel investor. Prior to Vectara, he was Vice President of Developer Relations at Google Cloud. He was an investor and advisor at Alphonso. He was also a board member at DeepVu. He co-founded and served as Global Chief Technology Officer at Cloudera. Previously, he was an advisor at DriveScale. He was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Accel Partners. Prior to joining Accel, he was Vice President of Intelligent Product Development at Yahoo! and led one of the first organizations to use Hadoop for data analytics and business intelligence. He joined Yahoo! after the company acquired his first startup, VivaSmart, in July 2000. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, and his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
