Ashwin Patel is a co-founder and Managing Director at Morado Venture Partners. He is also a member of the board of directors of Docyt. He is also on the board of directors of DataTorrent Inc. He has served on the board of directors of ShoCard. He is also an investor in Docker. He has long held leadership positions in product development and engineering at Yahoo! Inc., most recently serving as the company's chief technology evangelist. He began his career at Yahoo! at the dawn of the Internet, joining the company's engineering department in 1996. At Yahoo! he held a number of positions, including senior vice president of platform development, chief product officer and executive vice president of the audience platform division. Early in his tenure at the company, he created My Yahoo!, the registration and login platforms, and the back-end infrastructure for Yahoo! Finance. He later developed the back-end infrastructure for Yahoo! Messenger, eventually building the team that launched that product. Over eight years, he grew his engineering team to about 1,500 people. Together, Ash and his team grew Yahoo!'s infrastructure to serve hundreds of millions of users. Since leaving Yahoo! Ash has invested in more than 12 early-stage companies. He is a board member of Data Torrent, Breakthrough. Mr. Patel holds a B.S. in Computer Science from King's College, University of London.
