Brian Johnson is the founder and serves as CEO and board member of Kernel. He is co-founder and general partner of OS Fund. He invests in and advises entrepreneurs who are developing discoveries that make quantum leaps and promise to rewrite life's operating systems. He previously served on the board of directors of Planetary Resources. Before founding OS Fund, Brian founded Braintree, an online and mobile payment provider. During its first five years, Brian secured profits with his own money and led Braintree to be named one of the fastest-growing companies in America two years in a row. The company raised two rounds of venture capital from top firms and was acquired by eBay in 2013 for $800 million. He founded BRJ Venture.
