David Furneaux is the founder and serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of BlueIO. Mr. Furneaux is a member of the board of directors of Wallit. He represents Kodiak on the boards of Application Security, BTI Systems, GreenLight Biosciences, Lumicell Diagnostics and Vette Corp. He is also an observer on the board of Cortina. Prior to founding Kodiak in late 1999. In 1993, he was a member of the first team at Chrysalis Symbolic Design, a semiconductor design company, and was responsible for East Coast and large customer sales. The company was later acquired by Synopsys. Before that, he worked as a telecommunications analyst for the National Conference. During his career as an entrepreneur and fund manager, he has been directly involved in the conception, financing, launch and operation of many high-growth information technology companies. Selected previous investments include ALIS (Karl Zeiss), Auroranetics (Cisco), Extreme Packet Devices (PMC-Sierra), Enfora (Novatel), Philsar (IDT), RMI (Netlogic) Skystone (Cisco), Telica (Alcatel/Lucent) and Watchfire (IBM). He has spent his 20-year career as an entrepreneur, investor and venture capital fund manager. During that time he has played an active role in the creation of a number of leading technology and Internet companies in North America. He also founded and runs two investment companies, Furneaux Capital Holding Company, LLC and Kodiak Venture Partners. Successful companies include Aironet (IPO and acquisition of Cisco Systems), ALIS (Karl Zeiss acquisition), Auroranetics (Cisco Systems acquisition), Enfora (Novatel acquisition), Extreme Packet Devices (PMC-Sierra acquisition), Philsar (Skyworks acquisition), RMI (Broadcom acquisition), Smartcells (Merck acquisition) and Watchfire (IBM acquisition). Furneaux Capital and Kodiak Venture Partner's recent investment successes include Akamai's acquisition of BLAZE.io, eBay's acquisition of WHERE.com and Channel Advisor's IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. His interests include Internet and communications technology, agriculture and food technology, and sustainable power generation. He is a co-founder and board member of Solantro Semiconductor.
