David La Placa is co-founder and serves as CEO, Managing Partner and Chairman of Intellectus Partners. He is a member of the board of directors of FanCompass. He is a co-founder of DigitalBits and a board member of Orbital Insight. He has led Intellectus Partners since its founding in 2015, keeping customer-centric solutions, banking relationships and innovation at the center of his leadership. In addition, he leads the global executive investment and operations committees and oversees all investment strategies. His energy, vision and hands-on experience in multiple ventures strengthen his connection with entrepreneurs. He speaks not aloof from their needs, but with a vital understanding of the satisfaction and challenges of modern entrepreneurship. He has extensive experience at the intersection of entrepreneurial consulting, wealth creation and investment management. Prior to founding Intellectus Partners, he was an executive committee member of Client Advisor and a managing director at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown. He joined Deutsche Bank in 2004 and quickly became one of the top financial advisors in Silicon Valley. At Deutsche Bank, he was a portfolio manager, led Private Wealth Management on the West Coast within Venture Capital Services and was lead advisor for Internet and Digital Media. Previously, he was senior vice president of private wealth management and co-head of the venture capital services group at Lehman Brothers in Menlo Park, Calif. He was responsible for working with ultra-high net worth entrepreneurs and for the trading and distribution of portfolio securities of venture capital and private equity funds. He graduated from Temple University's Fox School of Business, specializing in real estate, finance and international marketing.
