Lane Bess is a member of the boards of directors of ZeroFox and Evident. He is an observer and advisor to the board of directors of Lumu Technologies. He is a member of the boards of directors of TrueFort and Zero-G. Previously, he was a board member and COO of Zscaler. He is also a strategic advisor at CyberMDX. He has been successfully launching startups and scaling businesses for over 30 years. From 2008 to 2011, he was CEO of Palo Alto Networks, where he led the company to annual revenues in excess of $200 million on its way to an IPO. Previously, he was executive director of global sales and CEO of Trend Micro, where he grew global revenue to more than $1 billion a year. He also held senior sales and marketing positions at NCR Corporation, where he led multinational corporate sales, and at AT&T, where in the mid-1990s he was responsible for launching AT&T's business and consumer Internet services products. He earned a bachelor's degree in managerial economics from Carnegie Mellon University and a master's degree from the University of Dayton. He also served as a strategic advisor at Humtap.
