He also serves on the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Faculty of Engineering Board of Trustees and Dean's Council. He is the recipient of the 2016 GSA Morris Chang Award for Exemplary Leadership. He received his M.S. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981, his MBA from the University of San Francisco in 1983, and his B.S. from Nanyang University in Singapore in 1978.
