Michael Stoppelman is an advisor at SignalFire. He is also an advisor at Burst Capital and Propelo. He is a venture capital advisor at Verissimo Ventures. He is a co-founder of Yelp. He is an angel investor. Former senior vice president of engineering at Yelp. He began his career at Yelp as a software engineer working on the search engine. In 2012, he became head of engineering after serving as manager and director of engineering for the following years. He grew the engineering team from 30 to more than 500 engineers. Prior to Yelp, he spent 3.5 years as a software engineer at Google and was the technical head of the AdSense Traffic Quality team. In 2003, he received his BS in Computer Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He is an advisor to the board of directors of Ponto Software.
