Tom Chiu is a Venture Partner at Enspire Capital. Mr. Chiu is a member of Sand Hill Angels. He has more than 20 years of experience in various high-tech industries, including mobile software, consumer electronics, wireless, patent sales/licensing, semiconductors and embedded systems. He is currently the founder of IPforAsia, an intellectual property market linking Greater China with major U.S. corporations. From 2003-2007, he worked in Shanghai as co-founder of Philips/NXP Software. Before emigrating, he led the Philips Connected Home initiative, which later became the foundation of the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). He also represented Philips in the WiFi Alliance as a minor board member and chairman of the DLNA China Task Force. He has held various director positions at Sina.com, Philips and NXP. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and an MBA in product marketing. He also received his NYSE Series 7 stock exchange and dealer license in 1988. He has been an active investor for over 12 years. He serves on several advisory boards and is passionate about working with startups in mobile, internet, location and e-commerce.
